The Métis Natives have this inalienable right to be recognized. One year, after officialising the existence of the first 31 Métis in Quebec, Mr. Gabriel Dufault, president of the National Union Métis Saint-Joseph of Manitoba (UNMSJM) that was founded by Louis Riel in 1884 and founder of the East- West Métis Union, recognized the first 48 Métis of New Brunswick.
